Believers in the early church understood that, whereever they went, they were to preach the gospel. As a result of their obedience, they saw God orchestrate new churches wherever people were converted.
Rather than choosing feasible sites for our new churches and then asking God to bless our efforts, we asked God to show us wher He was at work so we could join Him. We are often asked hwo we picked the places where we are choosing to plant churches. The answer to the question is unique to every church plant. The church unanimously affirmed and embraced the vision when it was presented in the Fall of 2002 and immediately God began revealing the places we weree to go next. We believe God sent the vision of Bold World Impact, a 5 year strategy for starting over 30 churches world-wide, through Pastor Jay Dennis in the Summer of 2002.

There were more Christians martyred for their faith in the 20th century than in the previous 19 centuries combined. Thank God for the faithful witness of persecuted believers and intercede for them and their families.
This include the church which began all the way back in Acts, Chapter 1! More of our own Southern Baptist missionaries died for their faith during the last 10 years, then in the previous one hundred fifty years combined. It has never been more dangerous to be a missionary or a believer then today, yet God is calling out believers to give their lives away like never before.
For generations, Communism was though to be the greatest single threat to the4 Christian way of life. No more. The fall of Communism in Eastern Europe has allowed for the rapid expansion of the Muslim religion. Though most clim to be peaceful, elimination fo the Christian faith is at the heart of their primary doctrines. In some parts of South Asia, radical Hindus pose an even greater threat than Muslims.

That the oppressors of Christians would experience repoentance and salvation and that the churches in the Islamic world would be free to share the Good News.
That the Latin American chruches would act with wisdom and maturity amid reapidly changing social, religious, and political environments.
For churches in the former soviet union (particularly Russia) - that the political and legal freedoms will be preserved and that believers will remain steadfast when encountering discrimination and harassment.
That the leaders of democratic countries will have the courage to speak out regarding the violation of human rights and that the westerners, escpecially Christians, will be aroused and will no longer tolerate the persecution of believers. |
